About Us
Our 35-year journey together began with a shared love for horses, ranching, and the outdoors. Raised in Southern Saskatchewan’s farming and ranching communities, we grew up with a strong work ethic and a deep connection to the land. We first met when I was showing horses and hired Doug as my farrier—and all these years and miles later, he’s still my number one.
In 1993, we moved with our children to Alberta to work on a purebred ranch north of Airdrie. As demand for Doug’s shoeing expertise grew, we eventually moved south of Calgary so he could farrier full-time. Meanwhile, I spent years managing an equine dental supply company before deciding it was time for a new chapter—leading to the launch of Hitch N Stitch Design.
